A finish, A Frame, A Fabulous Day

What a beautiful day! All my windows are open and I can hear the birds a chirping. I love this 70 degree weather. Wouldn't it be great to have spring year around. The cooking at noon for the men is going OK. And what ever is left over is what I feed my husband and it seems to be working pretty good so far.
Progress on the new farm shop and office

picture taken on 3/15/12
With temps in the 70's for the next few day the workers should make some good progress on this project.

And with all the cooking, cleaning and babysitting I have managed to get some stitching done:
first thing I finished stitching and making it into a flat ornament went in my give away , can't show a picture yet, so after Lesleyanne lets me know she has received her package I will post a picture of it.

I completed this bib that I show you in an earlier post.
Finished this on 3/13/12

I also finished 8 Baptismal bibs for our church. I forgot to take pictures of them before I took them to be stored at the church and be used as they need them. I cut out a pattern on white cotton and embroider a cross in the center, add a little lace and sew the front and back together, iron them and they are ready to go.

Monday my framer called and said my picture was done so Tuesday after I fed the men I made a trip to town and picked it up. It turned out great, these pictures really don't do it justice.

The light colored mat is the same color as the center design.
 A light green.

And lastly I have been working on Enchanted Alphabet but not enough progress to have its picture taken, so my next update maybe I will have a photo.

Tomorrow my niece goes in to have her baby, My sister is so excited to be a first time Grandma. Not only does she get one grandchild this year, but her oldest daughter is also having a baby that is due in August. My husband and I will be great aunt & uncle 5 times this year. Baby's all over the place!

Off to get some stitching done and watch some TV!

Metamorphosis finished!

Don't forget to sign up for my 1st year Blogoversary, 5 days left. Leave a comment on the post HERE.
I have started putting my box together just have a few more things to pick up and it will be ready to mail out to the lucky winner. Good luck everyone!

Yesterday Feb. 29 was my oldest Daughter birthday. Yep I had a Leap Year Baby. She was born 32 years ago and this would be her 8th actual birthday. I have taught both of my daughters to cross stitch but Jill finds she likes quilting better. So for her Birthday present we gave her a gift certificate to the local quilt store so she could pick up supplies that she needs. She was excited because with 3 kids and normal family expenses she doesn't get to spend a lot of money on the fun stuff.
Happy Birthday My Beautiful Girl!

Yesterday morning I finished Metamorphosis
Now to take it to town and get it framed
Really like the colors in this one.

TUSAL, Updates & a Give Away

First up since my last update is that I have been working on a baby bib for my great niece that is due the middle of March. Nothing fancy but just something with the little ones name on it. The center A square is finished and outlined and there will be an A in the last square that is empty at the moment. I have not decided it I will stitch something on top of the name or just leave it, but at this point I think it needs something?

I have added a few more stitches to Metamorphosis. This one is almost half done.

My TUSAL for February. The tall vase is holding January's orts and I will continue to add to this tall vase thought out the year.

And the following picture is my first try at finishing a flat ornament. The green is not glued down yet because I didn't have a ribbon that I liked to put on it between the red and green layers. And I think I will cut another green piece of felt and make it a little bigger. But this is easier than I thought it would be, thanks to Vonna's Tutorials on her blog The Twisted Stitcher. She does a great job explaining the process. ( I still need more practice )

.

And as you can see on the right side of my blog it shows that in 14 days is my 1 year Blogoversary and I have decided to have a give away on March 6. I have already started putting some things together for it. My only rule is to be a follower and comment  on this post only. Good Luck to everyone.

Time to get off the computer and get some stitching done

1st Finish of 2012

I finish my first piece on Saturday. I had started it as one of my 15 new starts for the 2012 CJC.

Started Jan. 6, 2012
Finished stitching Jan.  21, 2012

I was excited to finish this one so I could move on to something else, like
Metamorphosis by Ink Circles
I have the center one just about done.

I was hoping to have this one completed yesterday (Sunday) and could have if our plans had not changed. You see I had planned on having Lutefisk for supper but when I went looking for the butter in the frig - low and behold all out. And you can't eat Lutefisk without butter! So DH & I went to town to pick some up and as we drove down Main St of our little town, we saw War Horse was playing at the Theater. We made a U-turn and went back and the show was just starting, what timing. It was a really good movie, and I am glad we stopped. After the movie we went and got our butter and a few other things of course. We enjoyed our Lutefisk supper and it brought back memories of my grandparents because they use to make it us on the holidays.

I think I will do a little blog reading and then I am going to finish the center piece of Metamorphosis and then I have been hearing a very old WIP has been calling me to work on it and by old I mean I have not worked on it since I have been blogging an some before that. I will take a picture and put it on my next post.
And I leave you with a few shots of my Jan 2012 TUSAL

Have a good week every one
