Final TUSAL for 2012

When I did my last post I forgot about my TUSAL update
so as I was reading and catching up on my blog reading
and see eveeryone elses TUSAL I figured I better get my picture taken and posted.

Most of the colors in my dish are from working on Abigails birth sampler.
The christmas bulb with the 2012 written on it has all of my orts form this year in it
so we start saving again. Here is a picture of all 4 bulbs that I have done.

We went to a craft show last week and the girls had to have these,
Kyla, Kacee, Kynzie modeling there tutu's and
 matching head bands

This picture was also taken at the craft show we attended.
This is me and my bff, we have been friends
since we were in the 3rd grade.
Well it's about time for me to get ready  to go to work at the post office for the afternoon, so until next time

My Late TUSAL

Good Morning everyone!
I am a couple days late in posting my TUSAL, but here it is.

I have not done any stitching in the last two days, ya I know I can't believe it either.
I am playing catch up here on the homefront after being gone for 4 days. There is a good chance that I will be sitting and doing some stitching today, on what I am not sure at this point.

Hope everyone is having a great week!

TUSAL

Good Morning fellow Bloggers!
And Welcome new followers, I love that you stop by to see what I have been up too.
Its a nice cool morning here in SD. And I am enjoying having my windows open and letting some fresh farm air in and hearing the sounds of the chickens.

Yesterday was TUSAL and I was busy with my husband (its harvest time here) so here is my picture of my orts for this month and a vase with all my orts from previous months.

I have made some progress on the baby photo frame that I have been working on. I really need to buckle down and get it done because I need to give it to my great niece this coming weekend.
So here is an update picture as of this morning
I have all the cross stitching done now & I am working on the backstitching. Then there is just a couple of little rattles to complete and this will be a finish for me.

The last thing that I have to tell you is that Cathy over at Crafty Cat  (she has a picture if you would like to see) had a 100 follower giveaway and my name was drawn as the winner! There is a lot of great stash in the prize. Thank you so much Cathy! One of the charts that I won is Happy Everything and I have been wanting to get this chart for some time. This is my 3rd giveaway win for me in the last couple of months so I won't be entering any giveaways for a while so that I can give others a chance to win some cool stash. But do check out Cathys site! It really great!

Well my morning is just about shot so I better get off the computer and get something accomplished.
Have a great week everyone

And lastly a picture of my husband holding my great niece, Amaya. They are watching TV while I was making supper last night. Amaya's Mom was working and her grandma ususally watches her but Grandma Darla had to make a trip to Iowa to welcome her new granddaughter into the world.

My niece Chrissy & her husband had a beautiful baby girl yesterday morning. Her name is
Abigail Darlene.
I got a picture of her in a text message but not sure how to get here on my blog. Oh well just know she is a cutie and I can't wait to meet her in person.

Hopefully I will have stitching picture the next time I post.

Shop, Stitching, TUSAL,& new start

Hi Everyone! Well I managed to put in about 5 hours of stitching yesterday. And I got up this morning and started stitching again, but not it didn't last long because I had to help sort cattle and haul them to the sale barn to be sold tomorrow. So I will be sitting at a stinky sale barn most of Monday watching cattle sale. These are the feeders that I bottle fed last fall.

Yesterday morning we laid some more concrete in our new shop, we had about 10 of our friends show up to help. What great friends we have.

We have to lay one more pad of concrete next Saturday and the shop floor will be complete. My husband is wishing it was all done but we have a long ways yet before the shop is completely finished.

I am still working on Blooming with Inspiration, this one is going to take awhile and I am Itching to work on something else for a while. So I decided to start on a Christmas ornament for the month of May, beings I don't have but a week left in the month to get it done. I have decided to start on Baked Goods by Little House Needleworks. So many of you out there have already done this one and I have had it kitted up for quite awhile so now is the time.
As of 4/30/12
As of 5/20/12

And I also finished up Forever in my Heart and framed it simply in a black frame.

This young man left this earth way too early in life. I made this for his mother who misses her son deeply, and is missed by all his friends.

And my final bit of news of course is TUSAL time.
Mostly from Blooming with Inspiration

I hope everyone has had a super weekend

TUSAL & an update

Well I forgot to post my TUSAL yesterday because I spent the day searching the new 1940 census that just came out in April and I lost track of time. I just love to family history stuff.
Anyway here is my TUSAL
Aprils Tusal and previous months orts

I got a little bit more done on Blooming with Inspiration since my last post. This picture really shows the true colors of this piece. The fabric is this really pretty lite blue.
Blooming with Inspiration

I was just outside and notice that in my walk around the farm this morning we have 2 new additions to our cow herd. Two of our cows had giving birth and one of them was stilling cleaning her baby up. The joys of spring time on the farm. Couldn't get close enough for a picture maybe in a couple of days. On Thursday we get our new baby chickens so the grand kids will be having fun helping with them.

Off to go visit my sister for awhile. I hope everyone is having a great weekend.

TUSAL, & Not that much stitching this week!

First up is a picture of my orts for the Month of March.
The doily  that they are sitting on was made by me quite a few year ago. It is the only hardanger that I have done. Its not that I didn't like doing it, I just love doing cross stitch better.

I haven't done much stitching this past week and I think it is because I told myself I had to finish Enchanted Alphabet before I could go on to something else. Well I just am not into finishing it, even thought it is so close to being done. And my weekend was packed with family stuff. Friday morning my niece had a baby girl and named her Amaya ( I made a bib with her name on it - picture in last post) Friday night my DD1 had a Pampered Chef party that I went to and DD2 and her 3 kids came up from Iowa to spend the night ( no stitching on Friday). Saturday came along and we had a house full. DD2 & I decided to run to town and pick up a few groceries, came out of the store and my car would not stay running. DH came to the rescue and said I had a fuel pump out. So they haul it to the shop to get worked on.  Got it back on Tuesday. I hate being with out my car. Any way back to my week end. Saturday night we attended a wedding of some friends of ours and did not get home until after 11:00 pm (no stitching on Saturday). On Sunday DD1 came out with her kids and we did some sewing. Not stitching but sewing. See she got the gift card to the local quilt shop and she spent it on these cute Cupcake Potholder pattern and material so she made one and I worked on a countertop ironing mat so that I don't have to pull out my ironing broad for my little ironing jobs. I forgot to get a picture of my daughters cupcake potholder that she made but I did get a shot of my ironing mat.

Sunday night the kids were still here for super so DH & I made lobster  tail and steak for supper. Oh boy did we stuff ourselves. It was so good. ( we even got to have leftovers on Monday night). Monday night after we ate supper we had a Insurance meeting with our agents (no stitching monday night) and Tuesday I had to get ready for out Equalization Meeting for the township, which was Tuesday night (no stitching on Tuesday ) By now I am going thru withdrawal. So Wednesday morning first thing (after I got DH off to work) I go in search of something to stitch. I found an Easter ornament by The Trilogy, found my supplies and sat down and started on it. I had been working on it about 1/2 hour and someone came walking in my house. It was DD1 with Sharlee. DD1 forgot to tell me that she didn't have daycare that day and I needed to babysit. There went my plans for the day. Oh well could have been worst. So between yesterday and today here is my progress ( I have my granddaughter again today)
Easter Spots by The Trilogy

Well blogger won't let me share anymore pictures with you so tomorrow I will share the rest with you.

Happy Stitching everyone.

TUSAL, Updates & a Give Away

First up since my last update is that I have been working on a baby bib for my great niece that is due the middle of March. Nothing fancy but just something with the little ones name on it. The center A square is finished and outlined and there will be an A in the last square that is empty at the moment. I have not decided it I will stitch something on top of the name or just leave it, but at this point I think it needs something?

I have added a few more stitches to Metamorphosis. This one is almost half done.

My TUSAL for February. The tall vase is holding January's orts and I will continue to add to this tall vase thought out the year.

And the following picture is my first try at finishing a flat ornament. The green is not glued down yet because I didn't have a ribbon that I liked to put on it between the red and green layers. And I think I will cut another green piece of felt and make it a little bigger. But this is easier than I thought it would be, thanks to Vonna's Tutorials on her blog The Twisted Stitcher. She does a great job explaining the process. ( I still need more practice )

.

And as you can see on the right side of my blog it shows that in 14 days is my 1 year Blogoversary and I have decided to have a give away on March 6. I have already started putting some things together for it. My only rule is to be a follower and comment  on this post only. Good Luck to everyone.

Time to get off the computer and get some stitching done

1st Finish of 2012

I finish my first piece on Saturday. I had started it as one of my 15 new starts for the 2012 CJC.
Hallelujah
Little House Needelworks
Started Jan. 6, 2012
Finished stitching Jan.  21, 2012
30 ct Straw Weeks Dye Works
and used recommended flosses

I was excited to finish this one so I could move on to something else, like
Metamorphosis by Ink Circles
I have the center one just about done.

I was hoping to have this one completed yesterday (Sunday) and could have if our plans had not changed. You see I had planned on having Lutefisk for supper but when I went looking for the butter in the frig - low and behold all out. And you can't eat Lutefisk without butter! So DH & I went to town to pick some up and as we drove down Main St of our little town, we saw War Horse was playing at the Theater. We made a U-turn and went back and the show was just starting, what timing. It was a really good movie, and I am glad we stopped. After the movie we went and got our butter and a few other things of course. We enjoyed our Lutefisk supper and it brought back memories of my grandparents because they use to make it us on the holidays.

I think I will do a little blog reading and then I am going to finish the center piece of Metamorphosis and then I have been hearing a very old WIP has been calling me to work on it and by old I mean I have not worked on it since I have been blogging an some before that. I will take a picture and put it on my next post.
And I leave you with a few shots of my Jan 2012 TUSAL

Have a good week every one
