Lots of things to share

Good Morning Everyone!
Lets see where do I start?
I have been stitching, not as much as I would like too but some. I have been working mostly on We Three Kings since my last posting. Here is my progress.
I have not worked on this piece since last Dec. so it felt good to get it out and work on it. There are a lot of color changes on the this one so I needed a little change of pace and started on Home of a Needleworker by Little House Needleworks. And here is my progress of this piece as of last night.

I started this piece on the 17th and have 882 stitches in the blue house so far. This one will be an easy stitch as there are not very many color changes.

In my last post I told you about my new book shelves in my craft room. Well right next to the book shelves is a closet that I have not used forever, because it stored all of my son's stuff that he did not take with him when he moved out.
So every thing was taken out, sorted, trashed,& given away. I was left with this.
Nothing in the closet, I wash the walls and the floor. Then I decided to take the door off so that it would not become the catch all place and be hidden away forever.
And here I can neatly store my totes.

I was a winner of a giveaway, Cathy over at I Love to Stitch sent these wonderful things to me.
Thank you so much!

Better Late than Never!

Hey everyone! I had intended to do this post on Monday but here I am on Friday making time to get this post out there.

Last Sunday I completed April Showers
Freebie from Needle Bling Designs
28ct African Daisy Hand dyed Jobelan
and the called for threads (CC, GAST, WDW)
Started - 4/23/2013
Completed - 4/27/2013
abt. 900 stitches
Sorry the picture doesn't show that the fabric is actually a light yellow. Because I completed this at the end of  April I will get it finished so it can go in my Spring basket next spring.  We didn't have any spring showers this year, we had spring snow.

Well I did pretty good on stitching just about every day in the month of April. There were only 8 days that I did not pick up a needle and thread. Two of those days I worked on my craft room trying to get stuff put away again. And I bought a new book shelf to store all my magazine's and leaflets and hard covered books
The little book shelf was already in my craft room I just did some moving around and got it looking all neat and organized. (I'm not going to show you the rest of the room at the moment because that is still a mess)

So for the month of April I did a total of 4802 stitches. Here's the breakdown:
Poinsettia House - 1996 stitches
(finished and posted pic on and earlier post)
Spring Shower - 900 Stitches
(finished and pictured above)
Blooming with Inspiration - 948 Stitches
(still working on this one)
Green Quaker - 958 Stitches
( this one is also a work in progress)
But I do have a picture of Green Quaker to show where I left off.

Well that is about all the stitching stuff I have for now so I am going to leave you with a couple of pictures of our new born calves. We are waiting on the last 4 calves to be born and then our calving season will be done.

A Finish, New Stash,& Calves (picture heavy)

Good morning everyone! Spring still has not come to us here in SD. We still have snow on the ground, not much but some and guess what? Yep 3-6 inches is on its way later this morning, some of SD is already getting it now.

I have another finish too show you!
Poinsettia House by LHN
28ct Lt Examplair Linen
Called for Crescent Colours
Started 11/24/12
Finished 4/19/13
After I finished this piece I pulled out Blooming with Inspiration by BRD, this is the WIP that I was suppose to work on this month. Here is a picture of my progress as of last night.
I am working this one on 40ct Wisteria hand dyed fabric and using the recommended WDW.

I also enhanced my stash this past week, I went a little crazy and ordered from 123 Stitch. Here is what I purchased.

Can't wait to start this one!

I need these like I need a hole in my head , I know I know. Into my stash they go.

In my last post I mentioned that we have calves being born and Catherine wanted me to post some pictures of our new born calves  so here are a couple of pictures I took of them.

Last but not least we had a small get together at the shop this past weekend. My SIL fried up some mountain oysters and deer chislic. He did an awesome job!

Me and my oldest grand son Trey

Where did SPRING go!

Good morning everyone and welcome to my new followers!
We started seeing the signs of spring - the grass was starting to green up, buds on the trees and then this happened :(
10 inches of the white stuff, some places got an inch of ice before the snow came. We got some ice but not an inch. We didn't loose any trees or power to the house. Some people have been out of power for 3 days.
And of course it never fails when it storms in the spring the cows start calving. Thank goodness we only had one cow that calved during storm. Lucky us.

Now for stitchy stuff!
I have been stitching more this past week. This is what I have been working on. I started it in January and then set it aside. I had the house just about done and the snow done. the rest I have accomplished this week.

Poinsettia House by LHN

Quick up date on Honey, she is all healed up and as active as ever, but this worry wart mom still kinda keeps a watchful eye on her.

Well this post is short and sweet. I an now off to get some stitching done, because I have Sharlee my granddaughter this afternoon, so not much stitching while she is here.

Catching up

OMG where do I begin!
I have not posted a blog since the 20th of March.
It has to be LPS ( Lazy Posting Syndrome) (read this syndrome on Shirlee's blog The Easily Influenced Stitcher)
I think I spend too much time on the computer (reading blogs, Pinterest, face book, and all my emails)
It seems there is always things that come up to get in the way of my stitching.
In Feb. I had done 4183 stitches, in March I only managed to accomplish 2436 stitches. And the month of April is starting out kinda slow also. Hopefully it will pick up before the end of the month.
The only thing that I have stitched on since the 20th is Blooming with Inspiration
the last time I updated the boarder was all that I had done,
so now the tree is done and I have to put some flowers the
grass and I will be able to start another section.
Over the Easter weekend my Son and his girlfriend came out and I took there engagement pictures for them.
They have set the big day for July 13, 2013, they got engaged at Christmas time. She has her dress and alot of the arrangements are already made. She is very organized.

I finally decided it was time to take some weight off , so after some looking around and searching on the web I decided to go with Ideal Protein. Yesterday I went in and had my first meeting with Dr. Chris, he explained the program to me and sent me home with all the stuff that I needed for my first week. So the weight loss started this morning. The tuff part of this diet is that I can have NO diet coke, actually no soda pop at all. But I am determined to make this work. So I will keep you informed on how it is going. I know a lot of you are also tring to loose weight like I am and what a struggle it is.

One last update is that Honey is doing awesome, she is no longer in a cast or have the cone of shame and is able to go outside and play a little. We still has to be careful with her so she doesn't rebreak the  bones, but she is enjoying the outside again.

Another cold morning

Good Morning everyone and welcome to my new followers!
Love to see new bloggers!

Its cold outside but not snowing (yet) Will spring ever get here!

Quick update on Honey, she is doing very good on the healing of her two broken legs. And she is letting me know she is feeling better every day. She is getting quite tired of being in her kennel all the time and when she does get out she totally goes wild on me. She wants to run and jump but the doctor said not until after 4 weeks of healing. We have gone through 2 Cones of Shame  because she has been chewing on them. I have given her chew toys and bones but she wants that thing off so she can chew her cast off!
Thank you for all your comments and hugs for Honey they were greatly appreciated.

Yesterday I stopped at Micheal's and pick up my Birds of a Feather that I had frame there and it turn out great! Have a look.
Had to take the picture at an angle so I wouldn't get
the flash in the picture.
And the next update I have is of
Abigail's Birth Sampler
Sorry about the wrinkles, I am so close to being finished that I want to wait until I am done before I give it a good press. I need to back stitch the toys on the bottom of the picture and the Giraffe's head and Abigail's name, date and weight. Don't thing it will be done by this week end when Chrissy and her family come to visit but it will be close.

This will be a short and sweet post because I need to get off this computer and get to work on my taxes, I would like to get them turned in by this Friday. I have them almost done but have been procrastinating  on getting them finished up.
So until next time

Blogger :(

Oh my gosh why can't they leave things alone!
I like to think I am pretty good on a computer and not afraid to try new things,
but this has me stump! I signed up for Bloglovin like others have but I can't get my blog to move over for some reason. I followed the directions and nothing.
I may just keep using blogger  until July and when they shut down I will quite blogging. But then I will miss out on a lot of good reading and support. So I have some time to get this figured out.
What to do, What to do!
I hope everyone else gets it figured out!

Update on Honey

Thank you everyone for all the get well wishes for Honey. I really appreciate them!

Well it's been just over 2 weeks since Honey was hit by a car. We have a daily routine of going outside to potty 4 -5 times and a snack each time she comes in. We have to wrap her front cast in plastic so that it does not get wet while we are out in the snow, then take it off when we come back inside. She can only go out side on a leash but she would love to run and play with our other dog and her companion. I hold her back and make her walk so she doesn't slip and  re break her legs. The last 2 days she has been restless and decided to chew on her cone of shame, Guess what else she decided to chew on. Yep you guessed it!

She had chewed a nice big hole in her wrap, so the vet said to bring her in and they re wrap it and we got another cone for her. So we will see how long this one lasts. ( she even has her chew toys in the kennel with her) The Vet told me she healing nicely and no signs of infections or rubbing sores. She does have some itching where her hair is growing back on her back leg but that is to be expected.

The final thing the Vet said was they would like to see her in this new cast for another 2 weeks. So 2 more weeks with a dog that has spent most of her life outside on the farm running around, and now she has to be  in a kennel in side the house.(except for potty breaks) The trip to the vet must have taken a lot out of her because she is now napping quietly.

I worked on Abigails birth sampler last night and some this morning but this after noon I decided to work on some quilt squares that I started some time ago. More on the both of them later in the week.

Have a great rest of the week

My Poor Honey

Oh my goodness I have not blogged since the 24th of February. I have thought about posting several times and never sat down to the computer. I have been busy the last couple of weeks with taking care of one of my furbabies. Honey got hit by a car and ended up with 2 broken legs.
Honey  my 10 month old Red Heeler
This picture was taken on friday March 1st when I picked her up from the vets office. The front leg had a small fracture and  both bones in her back leg were broken and one of the bones was broken in 4 pieces and required a steel plate put in. She is doing awesome and healing quickly. We still have to keep her quite for a couple more weeks to make sure she heals properly.

On the stitching front I have been working on finishing up Abigail's birth sampler. I will post an updated photo in my next post or when I get it finish it up, which ever comes first.

Well not much else going on around here just a little work at the Post Office, a little bit of dog sitting for my brother, a little bit of cleaning the house (I should do more but maybe later) and I lot of waiting on Honey, and a little reading of other blogs so I am off to get caught up on the reading.

Spring is coming!!!!

Time for an update

We got snow yesterday and today its foggy out
It's been a little over 2 weeks since I last posted and I have done a lot of stitching, a little genealogy, a little work at the post office, and a little partying.
The calender that I keep track of when and what I stitch is full of stitching days. Since the first of February I have only not stitched 5 days. Pretty good for me.
The first 3 days I missed I was getting ready for DH's shop party

On the 18th and 19th I got absorbed in my genealogy searches. I put the genealogy away because I knew I was close to another finish. And so here is my second finish of the year.

Birds of a Feather  by
Brenda Gervais - With thy Needle and Thread
35 count WDW linen - Confederate gray
and the called for  WDW threads
Started in July 2011
Finished Feb. 22, 2013

Now to get it framed and hung up. I truly love the colors in this piece. So with the finish of this piece for the next week I will be working on Abigails birth sample. I would love to get this one done before the middle of March because that is when my niece and Abigail will be home for a short stay and I can give it to her then. I got it out and started working on it this morning.

Last week end we had a shop party at DH's new shop. Everyone had a great time! A friend of ours grilled brisket and pork loins on the grill for us and it was delish! And we didn't have much for left overs.

It was 3 in the morning before we all got to bed and Sunday was mostly resting!

Well that's about all for now. I have to go and get ready to go to the school and watch my grandsons wresting tournament this afternoon.

Happy Stitching!
