Where did this week go!!!!

Figured it was time for an update
and did not think
that I had much to report
but as I sit here thinking of what to type
I realize that I stitched more than I thought.
Monday I didn't stitch at all,
So Tuesday  I stitched Hope # 6 of the
12 Christmas Blessings from LK.

Then  I got all the alphabet done on BoaF Mystery Sampler
(sorry no picture of update next posting for sure)
The I got all the christmas presents stitched on
Wanted - Santa from LK
(again no picture yet)
Then I found this very cute Freebie
from Daffycat Designs (here)
I finished it as a pillow for my fall basket.
the material it is setting on is the backing.
Saturday I didn't get to stitch because
my DH had there final Pickup pull in Menno, SD
It was 1:30 in the morning before we got home.

Sunday I did a couple more finishes

this one I stitched up this year, it is also by LK

And another LK that I stitched up last year and
just never finish - finished it.

Here is all 3 of them that I finished up

Well thats about all for now. Time to go watch Mickey Mouse
with my grand daughter and start another christmas blessing.

Time for an Update

I'm not missing just busy! my grandson Trey who just turned 9 years old and is in the 3rd grade has started playing football. He has played two games and I went and watched both of them. Saturday morning was his second game. He is such a cute football player if I do say so.

Sunday found me drinking that great stuff they give you before a colonoscopy.
And Monday morning was my procedure. It took a lot out of me and when
I got back home after it was over I slept most of the day.
Monday night my husband gets home and tells me he bought
5 more baby bottle calves, so now I am up to 15 babys in my barn.
Tuesday I had my little Granddaughter all day so I did not
get to stitch until after supper.

Here are my updates for this past week:

I got a little bit more done on BoaF.

I completed another Christmas Blessing by LK.
That makes 5 done now.

And last night I started Wanted by LK
I love stitching Santa's!
I try to complete at least one every year.

Well I have some more blogs to read and some stitchin I want to do, so
Happy Stitching everyone!

Beautiful Day

Sitting on my deck with a cup of coffee listening to the birds, the trees moving in a gentle breeze, the chickens in the hen house are clucking, and hostein fat calves arrrrrrrrre getting out of there pen as I sit here and watch them. Well so much for relaxing. Off I go to get them back in.

I'm back, with the help of my two big dogs we got them in and hopefully they stay in! Now warm my coffee up and back to relaxing. I love this time of the year, now hot and not cold, just right to sit outside and relax.

Last night I sat and worked on BoaF Mystery Sampler ( I know all three parts are out and I am still working on it) I got all the leaves of the tree done and now I am starting on the boarder.

Monday I finished another of my 12 Christmas Blessings by LK - that makes 4 that I have completed stitching.
this one gave me some problems:
As I started to stitch it the thread I was going to use decided to knot up
grab a new piece of floss and start stitching.
Got the roof and beside the church done, then realized
they were suppose to be stitched in gunmetal not whitewash.
I decided to leave it and frog it later.
After I finished the piece I thought it looked ok so I left it as is.
No frogging!
Oh ya I am 1/2 stitch off and I think it is in the lower left corner.
but you can't tell it.

Here is all four of the stitched Blessings

Well time to get some house work done and them some more stitching.
Happy Stitching

This basket is too my left side and holds my
WIP's and ofcourse my orts.
And the wicker box it is sitting on is full too.

And there you have it, nothing fancy just my own
little piece of heaven.

I would love to see where everyone else does
there stitching.

Family Weekend

This is a seriously over due update!
Have done some stitching but not as much as I had wanted.
No Lizzie Kate updates, Friday I will get another
Christmas Blessing done. ( that's my goal, anyway)

The beginning of last week I was still dealing with my bronchitis.
Went to the Dr. again on Tuesday, they gave me steroids and stronger
antibotics, since then I have gotten better but still have little cough,
mostly clearing my throat type cough.

Wednesday found me packing for our camping trip with the whole family.
We camped from Thursday until Sunday afternoon.
Was a beautful weekend until Sunday morning
a thunderstrom blew thru.
My husband & I had a trailer camper we were staying in and our
Kids & Grandkids were in tents besides us.
they all ended up in our camper to wait it out

There was 6 adults and 7 little ones  in a very small space

The only night that I cross stitched was Friday night.
All the rest of the adults were drinking by the fire
and the little ones were sleeping
So I stayed up until 2am stitching this:

I found this pattern on dmc-threads.com, it was a free pattern
thought it was kinda cute.
And I have not stitched since then :(

The place where we were camping also had a flea market set up there,
so I couldn't resist going a doing a little shopping.
Found a flower frog for my niece - she has been wanting one for a while now.
I also found 4 packages of unopen fabric, 3 were 25 count and 1 was 18 count
I spent $9.00 on all 4 of them. What a deal!

I have joined the Crazy January 2012 challenge.
This should be a lot of fun, I have been following the 2011 challenge,
and seen a lot of fabulous stitching.
Minna has crated a yahoo group ( here )

The rules are simple:

Start stitching a new design everyday from
Jan 1, to Jan 15
so by Jan 15th you have 15 new WIPs to stitch.

Then try to finish everything you started stitching during the year 2012

How fun is that!!!!!!!!!

Still have a bunch of blogs to read and get caught up on,
thats next on my list to do, right after I switch out the washer
and dryer. ( still trying to get the laundry caught up)

Hopefully I will have more stitching updates by the weekend.
Happy Stitching everyone!

Only A Little Stitching Here

Here is a quick update on what I have been working on which hasn't been as much as I wanted. I have been fighting with Bronchitis for the past couple of weeks and I am still coughing alot yet. I have another Dr. appointment on Tuesday. Hopefully they can get me on the mend.

First up is someting I won in a giveaway from Jill, I just loved it and ordered the colors it called for and got started on it. As you can see I changed the initials to d a  instead of b a and changed year from 2009 to of course 2011. I really love the colors in this piece and can't wait to finish it up. I already have the crushed walnuts to fill it with.

The next up is from Lizzie Kate - 12 Christmas Blessings. This is the second blessing that I have completed. I intend to finish them into small ornaments.

Well I hope everyone has a great Sunday! I plan on sitting and getting some more stitching done. Not sure what I feel like working on yet but I need to get to work on some of my WIPs.

Happy Stitching

Mail Time

Yesterday after I got home from running errands
I check the mail box and it was full
and every thing in it was for me!!!

The first big package was from Teresa (Quiet & Relaxation Blog)
I won her give away.

I got: Lizzie Kate - Home is Where Our Story Begins
Some size 26 needles and needle keeper
a 9"x19" piece of fabric
and a cute pillow with bees on it.
Thank you so much Teresa!

Then I had ordered some stash from 123 Stitch

And then there were the magizines that came

So I fun last night looking through my new magazines
I have already decided which ornaments I am going to do first.

I better get some house work done so I can sit and stitch this afternoon

Some Progress

Just a couple of quick pics of the progress I made last week on my
BoaF Mystery Sampler

I have not had to do much frogging on this one since my last post.
So I am hopeing I got rid of him once and for all!

Friday started our Lizzie Kate SAL
and I choose to do the
12 Christmas Blessings.
Here is what I got finished on Friday

This afternoon after I get all my errands done I am hopeing
to get some ornaments made. And then I will post more pics.

Got to get my butt moving so I can get back here to my stitching.

Happy Stitching everyone

This That and Other Things

I just had the best supper ever
It was not a 5 course meal,
but you can't beat comfort food like mom's meatloaf and home grown sweet corn.
Yummy!

This afternoon when I got home from watching my 3 grandkids I checked our mail and seen that I had recieved a package from Jill, It was a giveaway that I had won. Look at all the neat things that I got.

These 5 beautiful Crescent Colours

Small Token pincushion from Blackbird Designs
(I already kitted this up to do)

and this cute needle keep with popicles on it

I also got a self stick note pad and not sure what happened to the picture I took.

Last week I stitched on two projects
the first one I have been working on for a while,
but I had to keep frogging so I have not gotten very far on it.

This is the Birds of a Feather Mystery Sampler
and I started on part 2 as you can tell.
I am hopeing the rest goes smoothly and not much frogging.

The next piece I finished stitching is

Merry Christmas (freebie) by Log Cabin Needleworks
I stitched it on 28 count Linen with DMC floss
I found this pattern on Andrea's blog (The Craft Room)
She also has posted the instructions on how to finish it, which
I plan to do. There is also a Noel christmas ornament
that I have ready to do.

I am not sure how much stitching I am going to accomplish this week because I am watching 3 of my grandkids this week as there babysitter is on vacation. Oh well there is always next week, right.
HAPPY STITCHING EVERYONE

Catching up

Well my niece told me I needed to update my Blog, so here is what I have been up to lately. Last week I truly didn't get much stitching done, and what I did get done I had to rip out because I forgot a couple of rows of stitching and couldn't fix it with out frogging. I was so frustrated that I put it a way. Another reason I didn't stitch much was I have been trying to organize my floss and take inventory of what I have. What a job that can be. I have found that in my DMC floss I have 6-8 of some of the colors. So I am sharing my extra colors with my sister in hopes that she will cross stitch more with me. Of course she can't replace my favorite niece as Chrissy will always be my #1 stitching buddy!

I am almost done with the DMC floss, I am working on the 900's right now

We had a very busy weekend, lots of family and activities going on.
Our little home town of Trent, SD had there
125th Birthday.
They had a parade on Saturday morning and we had several entries in it.
My mother & father in law in there 54 chevy

My husband driving one of our old tractors my son standing behind him and our grandson

this is our 50 chevy pulling truck. Our oldest daughter is driving it and
the rest of the grand kids are in the back.

We also had family from Colorado for all the festivity. So on Friday nite when I got back home from visiting some other family members I walk into my living room to find this:
I had 8 kids (ages 2-10) sleeping in my living room.
some are sleeping, some are hiding, and some are posing for the camera.
6 of them are grandkids and 2 belong to my husbands niece.

Now on a stitching note I finished another Lizzy Kate project, not sure how I will finish finish this piece.

I mentioned at the begining of this blog that I had to do some frogging to do, well I got it all ripped out and stitched properly again. It was on my Birds of a Feather Mystery Sampler. In the tree trunk I miss a couple of rows. But I am back at it again. I will post pictures of it later as I have not got a picture taken yet.

I hope everyone enjoyed there weekend
Happy Stitching

updates

I read blogs on a daily bases and I just looked and I have not done a blog since the 2nd of July. The 4th of July weekend was a busy weekend for us, we had 3 pickup pulls. One on Saturday in Marrietta, MN, One on Sunday in Gary, SD and on the 4th we were in Wentworth,SD. We had beautiful weather all weekend. This is a family weekend so all 3 kids were home and all 6 grandkids were running around.

On to my stitchy stuff;
I worked on my Santa a little bit but didn't get any pictures of that one.

I joined the group called Lizzie Kate Lovers, and right now they are stitching Lizzie Kate projects on Mondays ( well you can stitch LK any day but in the rotation of things Mondays the day) So I started on  LK's Hugs & Kisses and finished it earlier this week and got it framed and is hanging in my kitchen now.

Well after I finished finished this one I decided to pull out Woodland Enchantress and work on it. I haven't had it out for awhile. So here is what I have accomplished so far as of tonight.

I'm not sure if I will continue stitching this one this week or pull Santa out and work on him for a while. I do know what I will be working on tomorrow as it is Lizzie Kate Monday. So here is my new start for tomorrow.

I am truly not sure how much stitching I will get done this week as my oldest daughter and her 3 kids moved into our house for awhile not sure how long, but that means that I will be taking care of my 3 grandkids all day, all this week at least. I will be praying for patience by the end of the week, I am use to having them over night then sending them home. I hope things work out for her and her family.
Well until the next update
Happy Stitching
Denise

New Stash, New Stash, I Love New Stash

I couldn't help my self, I know that I just went to the LNS and got some threads, fabric and a new Lizzie Kate pattern so I don't know why I am in such a buying mood. Earlier this week I ordered some stuff off the Internet and I didn't think that they would get to me until after the holiday weekend, but Yaa for me they came in the mail today:

This is what I got today:
The purple fabric is 32 ct linen  and the other is a cream 25 ct. Dublin linen
and 3 pair of scissors (from Little Stitches)
Aren't the red, white,& blue one cute?
And the pink ones have pink polka dots.
The little orange ones are for travel.

I have a couple more things that I ordered that will be here next week sometime, had to order some more threads from 123Stitch and I bid on 3 leaflets that have bookmark pattern's on EBay.

Here is an update on my progress of Santa

You can't quite tell its Santa yet but soon you will.

My family is away at pickup pulls today and tomorrow so I have a quite house to myself. I have done nothing but play on the computer and stitch.( more computer than stitching I'm afraid)
I do plan on going to the pickup pulls in Wentworth, SD on the 4th of July, our whole family gets together that day. Hopefully it won't be too hot out so I can enjoy the day.
Happy 4th of July everyone!
also Happy Stitching
Denise
