Farm Life

Well not much stitching has been done by me these last couple of days. Busy with grandkids and stuff in general.
This next week will a fun week for me. I will have Monday, Tuesday & Wednesday to myself and then on Thursday I leave (with my sister, niece & great niece ) for Pella, Iowa for there Tulip Festival. My sister & I went last year and had a great time and seen alot of beautiful tulips and of course spend time with my super sweet niece.

In my last post I mentioned something about spring time on the farm so I got a couple of pictures to show:
Here are 2 of the calves that were born last Sunday

Sharlee loves the new baby chicks that I got.

If she could she would have spent the whole day in there
holding the babys

This last picture was taken on Thursday. I watched both my grand daughter, Sharlee and my great niece, Amaya. So ofcourse I had to get some pictures of the girls together.

Sharlee & Amaya
Sharlee loved holding her as long as Amaya didn't cry.

The rest of the afternoon is mine so I think I will get some major stitching done and watch a couple of movies that I have been wanting to watch.

Have a great stitching weekend everyone

TUSAL & an update

Well I forgot to post my TUSAL yesterday because I spent the day searching the new 1940 census that just came out in April and I lost track of time. I just love to family history stuff.
Anyway here is my TUSAL
Aprils Tusal and previous months orts

I got a little bit more done on Blooming with Inspiration since my last post. This picture really shows the true colors of this piece. The fabric is this really pretty lite blue.
Blooming with Inspiration

I was just outside and notice that in my walk around the farm this morning we have 2 new additions to our cow herd. Two of our cows had giving birth and one of them was stilling cleaning her baby up. The joys of spring time on the farm. Couldn't get close enough for a picture maybe in a couple of days. On Thursday we get our new baby chickens so the grand kids will be having fun helping with them.

Off to go visit my sister for awhile. I hope everyone is having a great weekend.

Why is it so hard to think of a title?

Good Saturday morning everyone. The sun is shining here and it is suppose to be in the 70's today, but with the good you also get the bad. Its suppose to be in the 40's by Monday with maybe some snow. Not that it will stick around long but not a good thing for my flowers that are blooming.

In my last post I said I would be updating my blog the next day and we are now 6 days later so here we go:
We had a lovely day on Easter and most of us eat our meal out on the deck ( there were about 30 people and not everyone could fix around the dinning room table)  and enjoy the sunshine. After the kitchen was cleaned up we went on our wagon ride
some of the kids
with a few adults mixed in

I can't remember what day it was but I got my self in the mood for some quilting and this is where I left off last night. As you can see I have the strips done and now I have to assemble the borders.
This picture will give you an idea of what it will look like. It's not anything fancy but I will enjoy covering up with it in the winter as I watch tv and stitch.
Snowball Block

Next up I have another finish from the Crazy January Challenge 2012
This is my 3rd CJC finish this year.
Count your Blessings
Shakespeare's Peddler
Started -Jan. 3, 2012
Finished - April 12, 2012

I used 40 ct French Vanilla R&R Reproductions
and the GAST colors that were called for in the pattern.
I enlarged the picture so you could see the buttons that I added to the picture. I was cleaning and moving thing around and came across an old tin that belonged to my great aunt. It stuff full of these old buttons still on the cards they were sold on. These are just a few of them.

Well its noon here and I have not got much accomplished here yet, so I better get my butt moving so I can sit and stitch later.
enjoy your weekend!
