New Stuff

Sunday night my floor lamp that I use when I am stitching fell apart and my husband said he could not fix it and he threw it in the back of his pickup. So on Monday I headed to the big city to do some shopping for a new lamp, well while shopping I got a call from the sale barn (where I buy baby calves) and they said they had 27 baby calves at the auction, So I drove home and unloaded the car (and no floor lamp)headed up to sale barn and ended up buying 17 calves to bottle feed. I was exhausted at the end of the night. So Tuesday I get up and get all my chores done and head to the big city again because I just can't stitch with out a lamp. And here is what I got.
Creative / High Definition Natural Lighting
Ottlite
Got it at Joann's 50% off
So I am back in business of stitching again but I think I am going to have to fight my DH for the use of that light because he really likes it too for his reading. So we will see who wins.

The next thing I have had a little while and can't remember where I got them but I am going to give them a try, and was wondering if any one else had tried them. They are called Thead Tux.

I am going to give these a try on my next project, the fabric is cut and floss is sorted and I plan on sitting a couple of hours and stitching when I get the post done. Please let me know if you have used them and what you thought of them. I liked the thought of not having to wind any bobbins my self.
Well I  am off to stitch before I have to go out and do chores and then make supper.
Have a good rest of the week everyone.
Happy Stitching
Denise

Great lamp and good luck with the floss things. I'm still trying to wrap my mind around the 17 hand fed calves you bought!?!?

No wonder you were exhausted - 17 calves to hand feed! Sounds like a lot of work - hope you still find time to stitch :) Good lamps are not cheap so it's a great find to get one at half price - I havn't seen the Cappuccino piece by LHN before - I am a big coffee fan so I would love to stitch this - enjoy your new lamp and let us know about the thread tux -

There aren't many things sweeter than a baby calf, but bottle feeding 17 - I bet you were a little exhausted! :)
That is the same lamp I have and I really love it. I've never tried Thread Tux but they look like a good idea.

Great lamp, I have one almost the same , but use that one now upstairs it's just a bit big for the room so my DH brought me another one for my birthday last year , and its fab it has a magnifier build in with lights.
I love the little plastic bags, the bobbins I find mark the thread, and then there is the winding.

Hurray for your new Ott lamp! Your hubby will need to get his own! I haven't seen Thread Tux baggies before, but I use little 3x4" ziploc baggies for my floss all the time. They are a little smaller than the Floss-Away bags and much cheaper. I would never want to spend time winding on bobbins.

I hope you can find time to stitch when you're not bottle-feeding calves!

As a kid a couple of times I would help bottle feed a calf, but I never did that for 17. Definately exhausting. I hope you get some down time and are able to win the battle of the lite, =0)
