Time for an update

We got snow yesterday and today its foggy out
It's been a little over 2 weeks since I last posted and I have done a lot of stitching, a little genealogy, a little work at the post office, and a little partying.
The calender that I keep track of when and what I stitch is full of stitching days. Since the first of February I have only not stitched 5 days. Pretty good for me.
The first 3 days I missed I was getting ready for DH's shop party

On the 18th and 19th I got absorbed in my genealogy searches. I put the genealogy away because I knew I was close to another finish. And so here is my second finish of the year.

Birds of a Feather  by
Brenda Gervais - With thy Needle and Thread
35 count WDW linen - Confederate gray
and the called for  WDW threads
Started in July 2011
Finished Feb. 22, 2013

Now to get it framed and hung up. I truly love the colors in this piece. So with the finish of this piece for the next week I will be working on Abigails birth sample. I would love to get this one done before the middle of March because that is when my niece and Abigail will be home for a short stay and I can give it to her then. I got it out and started working on it this morning.

Last week end we had a shop party at DH's new shop. Everyone had a great time! A friend of ours grilled brisket and pork loins on the grill for us and it was delish! And we didn't have much for left overs.

It was 3 in the morning before we all got to bed and Sunday was mostly resting!

Well that's about all for now. I have to go and get ready to go to the school and watch my grandsons wresting tournament this afternoon.

Happy Stitching!

My First Finish of 2013

OK everyone I have been reading about every one's finishes and I was feeling a little left out. Since December I have been working on bigger WIP's, so I looked back and saw my last finish was November 16, 2012.
I found a cute little Christmas Stocking on Pinterest. unfortunately the designer was not listed, but here it is.

There was a total of 750 stitches  plus backstitching

It only took me a couple of days to complete. I have not decided if I will finish it as a flat ornament or a stuffed ornament.
Now that I got that fix out of my system I will continue with Birds of a Feather by With thy Needle & Thread. All I have left on it is one and half sides of the boarder. So that should be my second finish this year.

In my last post I show a picture of my calender that I keep track of what I stitch and when I stitch. So far this month I have stitch ever day so far. LOL (it's only been 6 days) We will see how the rest of the month goes. My goal is to stitch everyday this month!
Well I need to read a few more blogs and get some chores done around the house.
Until next time
Happy Stitching

January Gone

Good Evening Everyone!
I am not enjoying all this cold weather, and walking around the farm is no fun either with all this ice.
Knock on wood, I have not fallen yet. The other thing that I can knock on wood about is that I have not caught a cold or the flu that is going around. The grand kids and DH are all getting over it now.

In January I decided to keep track of when I stitched and how many stitches I did.
So this is how I did.
This is the book that I have kept track  in.
Where you see the line drawn through the day are the
days that I did not do any stitching.
15 days of no stitching so that leaves 16 stitching day for the month. Of course my goal is to stitch some every day, but that doesn't always happen.

The 3 pieces that I worked on during January are:

Abigails Birth Sampler
I put 1152 stitches and a whole bunch of backstitching

Poinsettia House
620 stitches
Finished the roof and started the boarder on top.

And the new piece that I started
Green Quaker Sampler
1803 stitches

So for the Month of February I will be mainly working on
Birds of the Feather by
With Thy Needle and Thread
As you can see I don't have a lot left on this one, just finish the alphabet and the boarder.
So this just might me my first finish of 2013. And then it will be back to working on Abigail's birth sampler.
I do intend to get some of my WIP's done up this year and a few more Christmas ornament for my tree.

Its time to get some supper on the table so I will be leaving you with a cute picture of  my granddaughter. She is here for a little while this evening.

Happy Stitching
