Whooo's there

This morning I was awaken ( at 5am, no less) by a lot of racket coming from my kitchen. I thought that maybe my DH had gotten up early and was making coffee, but the noise continued. So I got out of bed and went to investigate and to my surprise  this is what I found.

My DH laughed at me because I made him wait to catch the owl so that I could get pictures to prove to everyone that we really had one in the house.
I have no idea how this owl got into our house, I have checked every window and the door was shut tight. This is the second time we have had an animal in our house. The first one was a squirrel. It was in our house for about 2 weeks before we found out what it was. We would come home from work and find any number of things knock over or mini blinds laying on the floor. It finally got itself stuck behind the bookshelf and again DH came to the rescue and grabbed it and put it back out side where it belonged. The funny part about it was that when it first started we put the blame on our children and that they must have been rough housing around. Of course they denied it and said it was that way when they got home form school. Boy did we have to apologize to them after we realize it was not them.

This will remain a mystery for the time being.
Well back to my stitching, I started a Christmas ornament and will post an update on it later.

Shop, Stitching, TUSAL,& new start

Hi Everyone! Well I managed to put in about 5 hours of stitching yesterday. And I got up this morning and started stitching again, but not it didn't last long because I had to help sort cattle and haul them to the sale barn to be sold tomorrow. So I will be sitting at a stinky sale barn most of Monday watching cattle sale. These are the feeders that I bottle fed last fall.

Yesterday morning we laid some more concrete in our new shop, we had about 10 of our friends show up to help. What great friends we have.

We have to lay one more pad of concrete next Saturday and the shop floor will be complete. My husband is wishing it was all done but we have a long ways yet before the shop is completely finished.

I am still working on Blooming with Inspiration, this one is going to take awhile and I am Itching to work on something else for a while. So I decided to start on a Christmas ornament for the month of May, beings I don't have but a week left in the month to get it done. I have decided to start on Baked Goods by Little House Needleworks. So many of you out there have already done this one and I have had it kitted up for quite awhile so now is the time.
As of 4/30/12
As of 5/20/12

And I also finished up Forever in my Heart and framed it simply in a black frame.

This young man left this earth way too early in life. I made this for his mother who misses her son deeply, and is missed by all his friends.

And my final bit of news of course is TUSAL time.
Mostly from Blooming with Inspiration

I hope everyone has had a super weekend

MY WEEKEND

Oh what a weekend I had.
Friday I spent the whole day going to rummage sales with my daughter and granddaughter. What fun we had and found some great stuff to take home with us.

Saturday morning we laid some of the  concrete in the new shop we are building. About 15 guys showed up to help us. What great friends we have. I feed them muffins and coffee in the morning and bbq's at noon. and we went thru a lot of beer.
Saturday night we went to our nephews wedding and wedding dance.
And Saturday was our 33rd wedding anniversary also (where did the time go). So we celebrated with KC & Lance as they start there new life together as a married couple & us as an old couple.

Sunday was of course Mother's Day and I stayed home all day. DD2 called me from Iowa and we talked for awhile then DD1 and her kids stop by for a visit, we had fun looking back at pictures when her kids were smaller. We had a lot of laughs. DD1 also made me a gift
She saw it on pinterest and I just love it! and of course those are my 6 grand kids sweet faces. Then my son called me in the late afternoon and we talk for awhile.

And today is on the go Monday , I have already been to town and got chicken feed, been to the post office and went and watch the two grandson at their declam contest, and now I am heading to the sale barn to see if I can buy some more baby calves.

I hope everyone has a great week and I will be back with some updates on my stitching in the next couple of days

From Samplers & Santas
The last line that I have to stitch on this piece is
Forever in my Heart.
I should have it completed sometime today, I already have the frame for it, so a finish is in sight.

Thursday my sister, niece & great niece went to Pella, Iowa to visit my other niece and to attend the Tulip Festival. But the tulips had already bloomed and so we didn't get to see very many flowers this year. But we had a great time spending time together and spoiling the baby. The following pictures are from our weekend together and some are from the parade that we watched on Saturday.
