Yesterday I was cleaning the sewing room up, you know putting the piles of stuff away that I had laying around and all the thread organized and in its proper place. I came across a tote I had not seen for a while and started going through it and this is what I found.
Filled with Love by The Creative Circle |
This was the very first counted cross stitch piece that I ever did.
I know I was stitching it in Oct of 1984 because that is when my son was born. I use to sell Creative Circle and did many of there pieces. I still have the orginal pattern for this piece and decided to restitch it using WDW colors.
not sure when I started stitching it the second time, 2 or 3 years ago I think. |
The next stitching I found was from around 1999 - 2000.
Do you remember the Millennium?
Well these are the Millennium Cats, I finished January thru October.
January |
October |
Aren't they cute little kittys, not sure why I didn't finish them
Next up is
This is called Cow/Calf don't know the designer |
This one may go in the trash because it looks like it was a kit and the thread is no longer with it. Unless I feel like being creative and picking my own colors for it.????
I am sure I was doing this towel with Holsteins on it because my DH & I have raised baby holsteins for over 25 years.
The rest of what I am going to show you I do not know when I started them. I never kept track back then.
|
Got a long ways to go on this one! |
1693 Family Sampler also by The Creative Circle |
Praying Hands Looks like its almost done, I need to find directions for it |
This one I was doing for my daughter (Jill) I wonder if she will still want it? |
I Love Country Bow Ties |
The stitching is all done but misplaced the center piece that makes it into a Bow Tie |
Do you suppose it will come back into style again.
The sad part is I know that I have more projects that are started and at various stages of completion that are tucked away in that sewing room.
I hope you enjoyed my trip down memory lane.
Have a great week end with some
Happy Stitching
Denise

Isn't it amazing what we find when we "clean"?! Looks like you found some great treasures.
Ha - I have the Trilogy as a ufo too! I'm down to the over 1 and no desire to finish!

I love them all so much..
Hugs cucki xxx
Everything is beautiful!
Isn't amazing to look back at earlier treasures? I think I still have one of the bow kits if you think you need a companion! :)
happy stitching...
Great stitching. It;s amazing what we put to the side.
Wow, you found some good stuff! I recently found some ornaments I'd stitched in '97. Now I'm in the process of finishing them.

I love looking back on my early stitches. The cute kitties are definitely my favorites of yours. Do you still have November and Decembers charts?
It is amazing what you find. Some great stitches.
Hello Denise
Thank you for the lovely comment on my blog.
All your stitching looks lovely - I love the Millenium Cats!
Hope you have a lovely weekend.
I think they have online conversion charts from kit #'s to DMC...so if you really want to finish the cows, you can. They're cute!
I wouldn't want to pull out all of my unfinished cross-stitch, not even if I knew where it was!
I did enjoy the trip down memory lane! :) I love the Cow/Calf piece - I'm a sucker for cows. :) I never dig too deeply into my closet. I know I would be shocked at just how many unfinished things I had.
Wow! You really did find a lot of old treasures! I hope you can finish the cats and find the center of your bow piece. I also have some unfinished Creative Circle starts from the 1980s!
Hi Denise,
So many great pieces. Wow, really!
