New Start and a Beautiful Weekend

Good Morning Everyone!
What a Beautiful weekend we had! We grilled some meat and potatoes and sat out side and enjoyed the sunshine. Today is going to be another story. It is suppose to be around 60 degrees by noon but go down hill from there and by 7-8 this evening it should be around in the 30's and a blizzard warning is in the forecast. In our area they say we could get 1-4 inches of snow.
Ok back to our beautiful weekend. Here are a few pictures that I took, as you can see my focus is my granddaughter,( imagine that).

She loves her bunny ears!

Taking a walk down to the shop to see grandpa.

Aunt Kay and Sharlee

Aunt Heidi and Sharlee had just gotten back from a ride on the 4wheeler

These next pictures are of Sharlee helping grandpa sweep the shop.

notice her outfit - she dressed herself and we didn't argue.

Now for my stitching, I decided to start something new.
I thought if I stitched something spring it would help with the weather outside, but not so much.

I am using the called for fabric of 28 ct Lambswool Linen and the called for threads. I have had this project kitted up for some time. It is an easy stitch, so I should have it done this week. Here is what the finish will look like.

Well that is about it for this morning. I have a few things to get done then off to town to drop my income taxes of at the accountants - nothing like waiting to the last minute to get them in. I am hoping to get back home before the snow hit.

Enjoy your week!
Happy Stitching!

Just Another Update

Good Tuesday Morning Everyone!

I woke up Sunday morning and walk in my living room to find what looked like a pile of blankets.
but when I lifted the blanket up I found my grandson all balled up underneath
Not sure if he was cold or if he sleeps that way at home. We had a great time this weekend with the boys. Took them out to eat a couple of times and Gavin (the one in these pictures) was so excited because Grandpa taught him how to drive the skid steer around the farm. He will turn 10 in April.

This week I am back to part time work - but I am catching up on stuff here at home that I got behind on while I was working full time.

American Flag Quilt Sampler is coming along - here are some pictures.

All of the blue words are done with an eyelet stitch which is very time consuming. I think that is one of the reason I have enjoyed this piece is because there are different stitches in it.
I think I will work on this piece until the end of the month and then pull out We Three Kings and put some time in on it. So that gives me about 6 more day on this piece. I think I need a change, I have been working on American Flag since Dec 8.

Well my dishes are begging to get done and the rest of the day will be spent on my farm bookkeeping, can't get much more fun than that.

Have a great week!
Happy Stitching

Wow its been over a month!

Where does the time go?
I am still working full time and spending plenty of time with the family. The stitching has been a little bit of a hit and miss so I don't feel like I accomplished very much. Here are a few pictures of what I have done in the last month.

These two pictures were taken on Feb. 22, I had intended to post them at that time but
that never happened.

March 12 through March 16 I spend with a group of creative women at Lake Shetek in Minnesota for our annual spring retreat. Years ago it was just stitchers that attended but now we have mixture of stitchers, knitters, quilters, and scrapbookers. It is so fun to see what everyone is working on.

I took this picture before I left for my weekend retreat.

This is a Jim Shore - Mill Hill -
Glad Tidings Santa Kit that I started on Thursday
finished cross stitching it on Friday

and finished beading it on Saturday

I finished backstitching Tennessee, Ohio and Louisiana on Wednesday when I got to Lake Shetek and worked on the red part under the blocks on Sunday.

And a shot of what I have completed as of last night (Sunday evening).

I am not going to be able to get much stitching done for the next couple of weeks because I have to get my butt in gear and finish up my paper work for the tax man. That April 15th dead line is sneaking up on me. I always tell my self that next year I will be more on top of things and not wait until the last minute. HAHA never happens. May be next year.

Well that is about all for tonight! Another full day tomorrow so I better get to bed.

Happy Stitching
Denise

Good Morning Everyone! I just got back from having coffee with my daughter. This is something I don't normally get to do because she ...
